Biathlon Bears Program Philosophy
Biathlon Bears is an introductory program designed to teach the basics of cross-country ski and biathlon shooting using
air rifles to participants 10 - 14 years of age.
Fall Program
This 8 week program will have one biathlon shooting practice per week on Wednesdays from 4 pm - 5:15 pm from October 15th to
December 10th at the Camp Fortune Biathlon Range, behind Chalet des Erables. Note: Participants may join the older biathletes for the Thursday evening 6 - 7:30 pm roller skiing/running/strength at Parking Lot # 8
providing there is a least one parent in attendance.
Winter Program
Phase 1 - Christmas Camp: January 2nd to 4th. The first phase of the winter biathlon bears program will involve a day camp that
will operate from 9 am to 12 pm on January 2nd & 4th. The camp will be spent reviewing and refining shooting skills and learning ski and waxing technique fundamentals.
Phase 2 - Racing Bears. In January and February there will be opportunities for participation in other biathlon races both in Chelsea
and out of town. Details of this second phase of the winter session will be discussed on an individual basis.
Registration & Fees
- Summer Camp: $150 for the full week - half day and daily rates available
- Fall Program $120
- Winter Program $120
$45 Chelsea Nordiq family registration fee is required for the Fall and Winter Programs.

Equipment & Clothing
All shooting equipment will be provided (target air rifles and biathlon falling plate targets) . Participants will be required
to have their own ski equipment along with running shoes, and ski poles with road picks, helmet and head lamp for evening practices.
Participants may use roller blades for road work, however, roller skis are advised. Roller skis are available for rental.
