Did you notice those fancy vans around the region this week?
Wondering what Ski de Fond Quebec and the National Cross-Country Training Centre vans were doing in the Outaouais? In preparation for the 2019 Nationals being held in the region (Feb.2019), both Mont Ste-Anne and Thunder Bay national training centres were hosted by Chelsea Nordiq over the past 7 days. Joining them were Quebec development team and invited athletes from Chelsea Nordiq, Nakkertok, Pembroke and beyond as they explored various areas of the Outaouais. From roller skiing around the Lac Leamy pathways, to trail running workouts in Gatineau Park, and core and strength training in Chelsea, over 50 athletes participated.
This CNEPH and Quebec development team training camp were then combined with the ‘Outaouais Super Camp’ that had 70 cross-country ski athletes aged 12-14 from across Quebec camping at Lac Philippe and training together.
In total, over 120 cross-country ski Midget, Juvenile. Junior and Open athletes invaded our region and that’s why you saw all those vans around – offering support, guidance, and inspiration!
